URTICARIA

Urticaria is seen as swollen, edematous, itchy swellings that appear on the dermis. If this is appear on the edges of the lips, around the eyes or formed in the tongue and laryngs, it is called angioedema, a life threating problem. There may be blood pressure drop, heart attack, shortness of breath, and excessive acid increase in stomach. Urticaria is not a disease on its own. It is a clinical chart for many reasons. The causes of urticaria include: thyroiditis, systemic lupus, sjögren's syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, hepatitis, chordal helicobacter pylori and fungi, infections, parasites, drugs, detergents, insecticides, foodstuffs, eggs, strawberries and seafood.

Treatment should always be directed to the cause. Symptoms are relieved by giving antihistaminic drugs when the pathophysiology could not be cleared.

In ideal treatment, the causes of urticaria should be identified and removed from the life of patient, a life without medication to aim a permanent treatment
